(UPI) -- Fast food giant McDonald's is ending its four decade long relationship with Heinz following "recent management changes."

The decision to make the switch comes after Bernardo Hees, a former Burger King CEO, became the head of the ketchup maker. Nevertheless the impact will be tasted mostly overseas as McDonald's uses Heinz products in only two cities in the United States.

"We only used Heinz in the Minneapolis and Pittsburgh markets in the U.S," said Becca Hary, McDonalds' director of global media relations. "Globally, Heinz represents a small percentage of McDonald's condiment and sauce business."

Hary said that customers would experience a "a smooth and orderly transition" to new suppliers over time.

A senior official at Heinz added that as of now the company has "virtually no business" with McDonald's.

The chain's ketchup supplier change comes days after the company announced it will be replacing its famous Dollar Menu with a new dollar-and-up menu dubbed Dollar Menu & More.
