Ciara gets engaged to Future

Ciara was proposed to with a 15-carat engagement ring over the weekend.

(UPI) -- American singer Ciara got engaged over the weekend to her boyfriend of one year, Future.

The singer was celebrating her 28th birthday in New York City when Future proposed with a 15-carat Avionne & Co. engagement ring.

Ciara shared her excitement with her fans via Twitter.

"Today Has 2 Be Like One Of The Sweetest Days Of My Life! #TheBestBirthdayEver," she wrote.

In August Future revealed to Hot 97 that he knew Ciara was the one since he saw her at a video shoot seven years ago.

"For it to come around and happen, it was just meant to be," he explained. "This the one."
