Orlando Bloom, Miranda Kerr split

(UPI) -- Orlando Bloom and Miranda Kerr are getting a divorce.

The Pirates of the Caribbean star and the Victoria's Secret Angel decided to end their 3-year-marriage after being amicably separated for quite some time.

"They have been amicably separated for the past few months. After six years together, they have recently decided to formalize their separation," read a joint statement released by the couple's reps.

"Despite this being the end of their marriage, they love, support and respect each other as both parents of their son and as family."

Bloom, 36, and Kerr, 30, have one son together, Flynn who was born in 2011.

The announcement of their separation comes as a surprise to many, as just earlier this month the couple was spotted out and about having some family time in New York City.

It is unclear is the couple has already filed for divorce, though at this point, its only a matter of time.
