Kate Upton on acting: 'This is just the beginning'

(UPI) -- Kate Upton would like to pursue a career in acting.

While speaking about her role in the upcoming movie The Other Woman, the 21-year-old model said she definitely sees herself doing more films.

"I'm not really sure what I want my next role to be, but I just really want to feel confident and feel like it's a good choice for me because I'm such a new actress," she said.

"Honestly, I don't know what my strengths are; I'm just trying to find my niche in the acting world," Upton added.

In The Other Woman, Upton co-stars alongside Cameron Diaz and Leslie Mann, both of whom were very "inspirational" for the young actress.

"They were really helpful in my experience with the movie, and I really appreciated all of their advice and all of their encouragement throughout the movie set," she said.

Upton, who until recently held the title model of the year, plays one of the mistresses in the Nick Cassavetes-directed flick about three women coming together to plot revenge against a man who's been toying with them.

The film hits theaters on April 25, 2014.

"For me, it's been such an amazing year and such a great experience," Upton said. "I've worked with some of the most iconic people and I've been very grateful for the whole experience, but I still feel like it's just the beginning, and I have a lot of ways to grow and I just want to continue in this direction."
