(UPI) -- Natalie Portman met her French choreographer husband Benjamin Millepied while filming 2010's "Black Swan." Now that he's been named director of the Paris Opera Ballet, Portman will be moving her family -- including their 2-year-old son Aleph -- to the City of Lights next year.

"I'm really lucky," Portman told Marie Claire for the mag's November issue. "When Ben asked me if I wanted to go to Paris, I freaked. Everyone dreams of living in Paris."

The stunning 32-year-old actress, who stars in the upcoming "Thor" sequel, said that while she's excited about the transition, she'll miss Los Angeles.

“I just really really love it here," Portman said. "It’s one of the most exciting places to be in the world right now. It’s really central in terms of the arts. It feels like things are happening in L.A., you know? New York is more where art is bought than where art is made."

The Israeli-born star already has a conversational grasp on the language.

"About this and that, I can manage," she told Marie Claire. "I mean, not about, like, philosophy,"
