(UPI) -- "Saved By the Bell" fans will remember Jesse Spano's one-episode addiction to caffeine pills, which she downed aggressively to stay on top of her schoolwork. The episode ended with a now-famous scene where Jesse breaks in front of Zack Morris, singing the Pointer Sisters' "I'm So Excited."

Now on "Dancing With the Stars," Elizabeth Berkley used Monday night's jive performance to channel her teenage alter-go. Berkley, with her partner Val Chmerkovskiy standing in for Mark-Paul Gosselaar, reenacted Jesse's pill-fueled freak out almost verbatim before launching into a fevered jive.

"It is one of my favorite episodes," Berkley told Yahoo TV. "And because it's a fan favorite, it has a special place in my heart. It connects us all to our childhood."

I loved knowing how happy it was going to make the fans since they've been asking us to do this," she said. "I know this scene holds a lot of childhood memories for people, so we wanted to make sure we nailed it. It was pretty surreal sitting there with a bow on my head in a letterman's jacket on a bed that was almost identical to the one on set. When Val popped through the window it was almost like I was transported in a time machine!

Berkley's former costars were thrilled about the gesture.

"So proud of @ElizBerkley on DWTS tonight! Pleasure to watch her dance & sit with her family...," Mario Lopez, Berkley's one-time onscreen girlfriend, tweeted.

"Gotta take my NoDoz…gotta stay up tonight…”I’m so excited”…on DWTS…TONIGHT!!! @ElizBerkley possibly bring back “The Sprain”?! …I’m so scared," Gosselar wrote.
