Actress Valerie Harper was eliminated from "Dancing With The Stars" on Monday night.

Harper, who starred in "The Mary Tyler Moore Show," had announced earlier this year that she was battling terminal brain cancer. She said that by being on the show she hoped to inspire other people.

“It was an opportunity for me to carry a message” that people, no matter what adversity they’re facing, should keep trying, Harper said.

Her partner, professional dancer Tristan MacManus, said his life was better by knowing Harper.

Harper landed in the bottom two with Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi. Elimination on the show is decided based on viewer votes and judges' scores following a new performance from each of the contestants.

Left in the competition are Polizzi, Corbin Bleu, Christina Milian, Amber Riley and Bill Engvall.
