Looks like "The Crossover" won't ever make it off the bench.

Michelle Beadle, the Access Hollywood host who was set to take the helm at the new show, which was supposed to focus on the intersection of sports, pop culture and entertainment, tweeted out the bad news to her followers Wednesday.

"Crossover is donzo," she wrote. "Thanks 2 the crew who tried their damndest. I'll let ya know what's next."

"Crossover," which debuted on NBC Sports in January, suffered from poor ratings. The network said it was choosing to focus on the return of hockey.

"With the NHL returning, we decided to focus on our core sports and have created vertical programming blocks in that time period to do that," NBC Sports said in a statement. "We look forward to Michelle Beadle and the production team continuing their work on other NBC Sports Group properties."
