Jake Gyllenhaal is making the media rounds to promote his latest film, "Prisoners," in which he plays a young detective in charge of solving the kidnapping of two local girls. Hugh Jackman co-stars in the film, which opened to positive reviews at the Toronto International Film Festival and is already generating plenty of awards season buzz.

In a Friday interview with Queen Latifah, the 32-year-old actor says he used to all the attention because he's always been popular.

"Yes, everybody really enjoys me all the time," Gyllenhaal said wryly. "There is not one aspect of my personality that is abhorrent, everything I do is shiny, clean .. it's amazing. I impress myself."

"Yes, I was incredibly popular in school," he added. "All the time."
