Lindsay Lohan, amid her road to recovery from substance abuse, has a new man in her life. Lohan, 27, is said to be dating former NFL player Matt Nordgren.
The athlete-turned-businessman has reportedly been friends with Lohan for years.
The two met seven years ago in Los Angeles, but their relationship did not turn romantic until recently.
"We've hung out," Nordgren told the New York Post's Page Six of Lohan, who recently completed a court-ordered stint in rehab. "But I have been a friend trying to support her for many years now."
Sources close to Lohan have said that Nordgren is just the type of person Lohan needs.
"He's a great influence on her, and her friends and family love him," an insider told the magazine.
"He's older, a successful businessman, and he has been a great friend to her. … He's also a Christian and won't drink around her."
Nordgren once appeared on Bravo's "Most Eligible Dallas" as a clean-cut businessman, which could be a good sign given Lohan's tumultuous past.
Lohan cut ties with friends that served as bad influences before entering rehab in May, and Nordgren has been one of the few non-toxic ones to stick around.
"He's trying to keep her sober and on the straight and narrow," the source said. "He's really good for her."
