Hayden Panettiere debuts new blonde bangs

"Nashville" star Hayden Panettiere debuted a new 'do for her appearance on David Letterman Wednesday, and it's a big departure from her normally soft waves.

Tweeting a photo of herself from the eyes up (thanks to a mirror hung too high for the tiny starlet to see much more) Panettiere seemed unsure of the new style.

"My friend said to go look at myself in the mirror..." she tweeted. "Guess ill hafta trust her opinion."

In an appearance later Wednesday on the "Late Show with David Letterman," Pannetiere revealed the rest of her look: pin-straight hair, long bangs and a new platinum dye job.

She wore a skin-tight Alexander McQueen dress, bright red Saint Laurent booties and darker red lipstick for the appearance.

Maybe she should have gotten a second opinion instead of trusting that friend.
