The Bronx zoo has uploaded a video of its newest feline resident, a snow leopard cub.

The cub is the offspring of Leo, the 17-pound snow leopard who was brought to the zoo from Pakistan in 2005 after its mother and father had been killed.

Leo's cub was born on April 9 and has not yet been named.

"The rescue of Leo as a cub, conducted by two nations, the continued global interest in him, and now the story of his first offspring shows the power of the connections between humans and nature," said JimBreheny, Director of the Bronx Zoo and WCS Executive Vice President of Zoos and Aquarium.

Snow leopards are among the world's most endangered felines. Only an estimated 3,500-7,500 remain in the wild.
