After Miley Cyrus's head-turning performance at the MTV Video Music Awards, tongues were wagging over how Robin Thicke's wife would react.
Paula Patton watched from the audience as Cyrus stripped her clothes and twerked on her husband. but apparently, the performance was no surprise to Patton -- she was present at the rehearsals and had given the OK well before the show, so she knew what to expect, more or less.
Cyrus kissed Thicke's neck and touched his crotch with a red-fingernailed foam finger.
Patton was the one that talked Thicke into releasing the racy "Blurred Lines" video, which shows him with women in various states of undress -- in one version, topless -- dancing with her husband. She said even she got turned on watching the video.
"Fine. I watched that video and I was a little bit jealous and then I wanted to jump his bones. I was like, ‘I want to take you down right now.' That's how I know it's a hit," Patton said.
Patton herself went topless for the film "2 Guns" and straddled costar Denzel Washington, but her Thicke did not see the scene until the film's premiere.
"It just seemed really phony to me to have a shirt on and so I just kind of sprung it on [director Baltasar Kormakur] and I came to set and said: 'I'm not going to be wearing a top.' I asked Robin before and I said, 'Because it doesn't feel natural.' And he goes, 'Go for it, babe, absolutely.' We don't really get hung up on those things," Patton said.
Only once has Patton suspected Thicke of cheating, but that was well before they were married.
“Before my husband was my husband -- I don’t know what got in my head; love makes you crazy -- I drove all the way to his house and I was in his bushes trying to look through the window. I totally got caught! Thank God I was wrong.”
