Marshall Mathers LP 2: Eminem announces new album release date

Marshall Mathers, aka Eminem, revealed the name and release date for his upcoming album in an official announcement that played during Sunday night's 2013 MTV Video Music Awards.

The 16-second announcement came in the form of a "Beats by Dre" commercial featuring Mathers rapping in the background as the name "MMLP2" appeared on the screen followed by producer credits featuring "Dr. Dre and Rick Rubin" and the date "11/5/13."

The upcoming "Marshall Mathers LP 2" would be Mathers's eighth solo album and will reportedly be a sequel to 2002's "Marshall Mathers LP."
