Soon-to-be dad Josh Duhamel opened up about his and Fergie's upcoming bundle of joy during a press conference for his new movie "Scenic Route" at the SLS Hotel in Beverly Hills on Thursday.
The 40-year-old actor told reporters that "there is a lot of anticipation going on at the Duhamel household right now."
Asked about how Fergie is handling her last days of pregnancy, the "Save Heaven" star simply said he was "impressed" with his wife and that she looked beautiful.
"I'm mostly impressed with how gracefully . . . I mean she's just been awesome throughout this whole thing," he said. "She's taken really good care of herself, she's happy, she's in great spirits, she looks beautiful and I'm just really proud of her more than anything. And I'm really excited to meet this little dude. I can't wait."
Duhamel added that he'll be taking a break from work to stay home with Fergie as they wait for the baby.
"Right now it's baby time, so I'm going to be home," the actor explained. "Then I've got a bunch of projects that are in development that we're producing with my company, which I'm really excited about. So it's going to give me some time to be home for that."
As for what the baby will be called, the couple has not yet shared the boy's first name, but they'll probably use Duhamel for his last name. On Friday, a judge gave approval for the former Black Eyed Peas singer to legally change her name from Stacy Ann Ferguson to Fergie Duhamel.
