Labor's Ed Miliband pelted with eggs [VIDEO]

"I am always looking for new ways to connect with voters," Labor Party leader Ed Miliband reportedly quipped when a disgruntled man pelted him with eggs at a south London market on Wednesday.

Miliband was greeting marketgoers when Dean Porter, a 38-year-old former homeless man, began throwing eggs toward Miliband and the journalists and surrounding him.

"I don’t believe him at all. If you are poor, you are considered a burden. All they care about is the banks," Porter said before security ushered him away.

Porter said later that he was homeless "on and off for about five years" and was disappointed with politicians' attitude towards the poor.

"Quite frankly the issue regarding homeless is atrocious," he said.

Miliband appeared to take his pelting in stride, tweeting later that East St. Market was a great place to find eggs.
