Jennifer Lawrence tells Vogue she's still not OK with fame

Jennifer Lawrence continues to uphold her reputation for being candid and down-to-earth.

Her interview in the September issue of Vogue is no different. But this time around, the "Silver Linings Playbook" star confessed that she is still not comfortable with all the attention she is getting.

"I teeter on seeming ungrateful when I talk about this," Lawrence said. "But I'm kind of going through a meltdown about it lately."

The 22-year-old said she does not see herself coming to terms with it any time soon, if ever.

"I am just not OK with it. It's as simple as that. I am just a normal girl and a human being, and I haven't been in this long enough to feel like this is my new normal. I'm not going to find peace with it."

Some of the 22-year-old's discomfort, she says, comes from a longtime struggle with anxiety. Her parents sent her to therapy for anxiety growing up, until she found a release in acting. She and her mother moved to Los Angeles for her to work on her first sitcom, "The Bill Engvall Show."

"My mom was on the phone with my dad, saying, 'We're paying for therapy and all this medication, and we don't need it when she's here,'" Lawrence said.

Lawrence said that there, it was the first time she had felt like she was good at something. She launched her career, which has earned her several awards, including an early-career Oscar nomination for the film "Winter's Bone."

"I've never said this before, because there is no way to say it without it being completely misunderstood," Lawrence said. "But ever since I was really little…I always knew that I was going to be famous. I honest to God don't know how else to describe it."

"It wasn't a vision," she said. "But as it's kind of happening, you have this buried understanding: Of course."
