Investigators have searched a Bristol, Conn., storage unit rented in the name of Aaron Hernandez's fiancee, Shayanna Jenkins, as part of the Hernandez murder case.

Court documents released Friday show that investigators believed Jenkins made "overt attempts to hide evidence ... and to hinder and mislead" the investigation.

Jenkins has not been charged in connection to the murder of 27-year-old Odin Lloyd, her sister's boyfriend. Investigators cite surveillance video, text messages and an interview with the sister, Shaneah Jenkins, to suggest Shayanna Jenkins may have had knowledge of what happened to the gun used in the shooting.

Hernandez, the former New England Patriots tight end, has been charged with first-degree murder. Hernandez called Jenkins the day after Lloyd's body was found.

According to the documents, he called because he wanted to dispose of weapons in his house. Surveillance footage shows Shayanna Jenkins leaving the basement of the house around 1:15 p.m. June 18, the day after the murder, carrying a trash bag containing a "rigid object," which investigators think may be a lock box or safe.

From there, she allegedly put the bag in the trunk of a red Nissan Sentra. Footage shows her returning to the house and opening the trunk of the car 35 minutes later with nothing in the trunk.
