Chloë Grace Moretz reveals Carrie reshoots

Prom horror flick "Carrie" is coming back to theaters in a new adaptation, starring Chloë Grace Moretz, but it's taking just a bit longer than anticipated.

Although princial photography wrapped on the Kimberly Peirce adaptation of the Stephen King page-turner last September, the cast and crew returned to Toronto to film some extra material in May.

“We actually prolonged the film, to be honest," Moretz said. "We did some reshoots, and added three extra scenes with Julianne [Moore] and I to make the movie even deeper and darker."

The film, which stars Moretz, who plays the titular Carrie White, and Moore, who plays Carrie's mother Margaret, was originally supposed to debut in March but was delayed until October 18. And while usually a delay spells bad news for a movie, Moretz insists that's not the case for "Carrie."

"We prolonged a couple of scenes that needed to have an extra moment or an extra beat just to make it even deeper," she said. "It wasn’t about cutting anything out or trying to edit around things; it was about adding more to make the movie scarier and more intense.”
