Misconceptions abound surrounding Miley Cyrus' life -- but she's just being Miley.

"I was thinking about dropping the Cyrus and just being Miley, but there's something powerful about the fact that my name now is like a household name," Cyrus said.

But as far as a household name goes, Cyrus carries a lot of bad with the good. Lately, she has mostly been in the news for definitely-not-Disney-approved activities, like her affinities for marijuana, strip clubs and cursing.

"People have this misconception of me that I'm just one of these kids on TV and that now I go off and party and I'm just this ratchet white girl, and I'm not," Cyrus said.

Cyrus said she is doing what anyone would do in her position -- making lemonade from the lemons handed to her.

"I'm young and living and in L.A., which is everyone's dream, you know," she said.

"I'm living it to the fullest. Rather than taking a blessing and making it a curse, it's just like this is what this name is now. But I think my name means something -- it represents something more than just what the media tries to make of it."

Cyrus said the media has made her out to be a partier -- which is fine by her, as long as people realize she has earned her right to party.

"People more think of me as a party animal," she said. "Which I am a self-proclaimed party animal, but I'm also the hardest working person you'll ever know."
