Chris Brown's most recent legal troubles seem to have taken their toll.
The 24-year-old performer tweeted Tuesday that his upcoming album, "X," could be his last, just a day after he turned himself in to Los Angeles authorities over a hit-and-run incident.
"X" drops August 20, just days after his August 16 hearing on whether he violated the terms of his probation for his 2009 beating of Rihanna. "Being famous is amazing when it's for ur music and talent. I'm tired of being famous for a mistake I made when i was 18," Brown added, likely in reference to the 2009 assault incident. "I'm cool & over it!"Don't worry mainstream America. After this X album, it'll probably be my last album.

Brown was actually 19 when his assault on Rihanna sent her to the hospital with facial injuries, but that's presumably the "mistake" he's most "famous" for.
As EW notes, Brown's retirement threats should be taken with a grain of salt, but his tweets have been rather melancholy in recent weeks.
Home don't feel like home. Too many vacant rooms.

Aspire to be great and the person you wanna be. Don't conform because ur worth is more than any money or status. We live. We die.
