Royal baby: 'Daily Show's John Oliver leaps out of his seat with royal baby joy

By KATE STANTON, UPI.com

John Oliver is still standing in for Jon Stewart, who's currently on hiatus directing a film, though the British comedian was perhaps more suited to deliver biting commentary about the media's obsession with his very own royal family.

“Obviously, there is a lot to talk about,” Oliver started the show. “Who am I kidding? There is exactly one thing to talk about," he said -- in reference to the newborn prince -- before leaping out of his seat in an ecstatic fit.

“Oh my God," Oliver repeatedly exclaimed. "A son...you mean a king!"

Addressing the media's long wait for the young royal's birth, Oliver suggested that the baby purposefully prolonged his delivery, “perhaps sensing this would be the only kind of labor he would ever be involved in.”

In case you've been living under a rock, the duke and duchess of Cambridge introduced their unnamed son to the world on Tuesday.

Of his son's tardiness, William said:

I will remind him of his tardiness when he's a bit older because I know how long you guys have been standing out here. So hopefully the hospital and you guys can all get back to normal now and we can go and look after him.
