Carole Middleton says the royal baby is 'absolutely beautiful'

By KATE STANTON, UPI.com

Carole Middleton said she and her husband, Michael, were "thrilled" about the birth of their grandson, the as-yet-unnamed prince of Cambridge, after they emerged from their visit to the Lindo Wing of St. Mary's hospital in London on Tuesday.

"He's absolutely beautiful," Carole told eager reporters when she left the hospital. "We are so thrilled. They are both doing really well."

Asked what it was like to hold her grandson for the first time she said, "Amazing. It's all coming back!"

Neither grandparents had any suggestions for the little boy.

"Absolutely not!" Carole said.

Contrary to previous reports, neither Carole nor Pippa Middleton were present for the baby's birth.

"Buckingham Palace denied rumors that they were going to be in the delivery room with Kate," NBC News reported Monday, via US Weekly. "She very much wants just her husband to be there."

The duke and duchess of Cambridge presented their son to the world when they stepped out of the hospital for the first time Tuesday.

"Hopefully the hospital and you guys can all get back to normal now," Prince William told the media.
