[PHOTO] Geraldo Rivera is half-naked in a Twitter selfie

For some reason, Geraldo Rivera felt compelled to tweet a semi-nude photo of himself on Sunday wearing nothing but a towel situated well below his navel.

"70 is the new 50," the Fox News regular wrote. "Erica and family are going to be so pissed...but at my age..."

Rivera's wife, Erica, somehow managed to tolerate her husband's public display.

"This is exactly the kind of thing that happens when I fall asleep first," she told E! News. "Thank god we have towels in the bathroom. But I'm proud my husband looks so hot!"

Rivera, who has since deleted the photo, seems to have learned a valuable lesson:
