Justin Bieber gets a tattoo of his mom's eye

Justin Bieber already has a tattoo that bears an uncanny resemblance to his on-again, off-again girlfriend, Selena Gomez, so it's about time that the 19-year-old pop star got something honoring his mother.

According to the New York Post, Bieber capped off a Tuesday night out in New York City with a visit to Bang Bang Tattoo, where the Canadian performer got his arm inked by artist Keith McCurdy.

Bieber showed off the tattoo, his mother's eye, on Instagram.

"Moms always watching," he wrote.

"I didn't feel like it was bizarre at all," McCurdy told MTV News.

People often get an eye to symbolize many things. For him, it was just like his mother watching over, kind of like a protective thing. It's totally from mama. We were talking about how we both have tattoos for our mothers and how it's something you'll never regret.

McCurdy added, however, that the image wasn't based on Pattie Mallette's real-life eye. They used a random photograph for inspiration.

"It was a model, photograph, the anatomy of an eye. Great photography translates to really good tattooing, so [we] just [used] his mom for inspiration," he said.
