Jodi Arias attorneys back in court to seek death penalty dismissal

Convicted murder Jodi Arias and her attorneys are due back in Arizona court Tuesday for an hearing on the penalty phase and possible retrial.

The 10:30 a.m. hearing at Maricopa County Superior Court will attempt to set a start date for a new penalty trial, in which jury selection alone could take weeks.

Arias was convicted in May of first-degree murder of her ex-boyfriend, Travis Alexander, but the jury could not decide whether to give her the death sentence or life in prison.

Lawyers could potentially decide not to go to a new trial.
