John Malkovich, currently starring in "The Giacomo Variations" at the Toronto's Elgin Theatre, reportedly saved the life of an elderly tourist from Ohio on Thursday.

According to the CBC, the 59-year-old actor saved the life of Ohio's Jim Walpole, 77, who was walking back to his hotel when he tripped and fell on scaffolding that slashed his neck. When Walpole's wife, Marilyn, called for help, Malkovich rushed over and applied pressure to help stop the bleeding until the ambulance arrived.

“I’m forever grateful to him, he really helped me out,” Walpole told the Toronto Star.

Walpole was released from the hospital after he'd received 10 stitches on his neck.

“I never had the opportunity to see him and thank him after the incident. I asked him what his name was and he said it was John," Walpole said.
