"Lost" creator and director J.J. Abrams gave "Star Wars" fans something to talk about this weekend.

Abrams announced that "Star Wars: Episode VII," the continuation of George Lucas' saga and followup to "Episode VI: Return of the Jedi," will begin filming in 2014.

Abrams indicated that he will be making a different kind of "Star Wars" film. He said the franchise "is so massive and so important to people. I think the key to moving forward on something like this is honoring but not revering what came before."

Fans have expressed excitement about the possible return of Carrie Fisher, Harrison Ford and Mark Hamill. See the trailer from the 1983 film below. Will Abrams include members of the original cast?

"Episode VII" will begin shooting in London in January of next year.
