Britney Spears makes surprise appearance at niece's dance recital in Louisiana

Britney Spears' trip home to see the family included a workout at a local gym and a surprise performance at her niece's dance recital.

According to Radar Online, Spears attended a dance recital at the Lemoine Academy of Dance in Hammond, La., on Saturday, to see her niece, Jamie Lynn Spears' daughter, perform.

Dancer Matthias Albrecht told the gossip cite that Spears' even got to watch a student dance to the singer's 2004 hit, "Toxic."

A source told Perez Hilton that the 31-year-old singer presented a bouquet of flowers to one of the dance teachers.

Spears also hit a local Hammond gym for a workout.

"She was running on a treadmill all by herself, like any other person,” a source told Radar.
