A high school student in Columbia, Mo., is facing felony charges after pulling a prank in the annual school yearbook.
Kaitlyn Booth, a 17-year-old female student at Hickman High School, altered the last name of a fellow student, Raigan Mastain to "Masturbate" in the yearbook after the yearbook had been checked and approved by staff.
Hickman principal Tracey Conrad said once the name was discovered, the school resource officer contacted authorities and the student was arrested May 14.
The yearbook staff collected the books that had already been handed out and covered the changed name to reflect Mastain's correct one.
Yearbook advisor Kim Acopolis said the process took about 12 hours, rather than reprint all the yearbooks at a cost of about $41,000.
"I was kind of annoyed. It was stupid, but I wasn't that upset," Mastain said, adding that she was shocked Booth was arrested.
"When you're in high school, you do stuff that is not necessarily the smartest, and this was an example of that," she said.
Booth faces charges of felony first-degree property damage and harassment.
