In a roundtable discussion hosted by Al Día News at The Union League in Philadelphia on Friday, Pennsylvania Governor Tom Corbett laughed off the question of why there are no Latinos in his administration by saying, "If you can find us one let me know."

Corbett noted that Pennsylvania’s 800,000 Latino residents represent about 6.8 percent of the population, and a 2008 survey found that Harrisburg's metropolitan region “is home to more than 18,000 people of Hispanic or Latino origin,” one third of whom live in the city of Harrisburg.

While discussing the "impact of Latinos" in Pennsylvania, Corbett refrained identifying Latinos specifically, instead saying, "I represent every one of you." He talked about developing stronger relationships with all communities, including "Latino, African-American, Italian, German, whatever."

"When it comes to decision-making, it's what's in the best interest of Pennsylvania. And, trying to grow jobs in Pennsylvania, I think is in the best interest of whatever nationality that we are talking about. When it comes to the economy, growing jobs is in the best interest of every nationality in Pennsylvania."

Plagued with low job-approval ratings, Corbett has yet to announce whether he will seek re-election in 2014.
