Zach Galifianakis brought Elizabeth "Mimi" Haist, an 87-year-old woman he met at a laundromat in 1994, to the Los Angeles premiere of "The Hangover III" on Sunday, The New York Post reported Monday.

The 43-year-old actor and comedian reportedly met Haist at the Fox Coin Laundry in Santa Monica, Calif., in 1994. Upon learning she was homeless two years ago, Galifianakis began paying rent on a one-bedroom apartment for her. The two have remained friends for the last 20 years, with Galifianakis often taking Haist to Hollywood premieres and events.

“I’m looking forward to it, I like the excitement of it,” Haist told the New York Daily News. Galifianakis has escorted her to other events before, including the premiere of the "Hangover II."

“If he’s in town, he takes me. Otherwise he lets me take a friend. I dress up nice and a friend helps me with my makeup. It’s fun, not something I’ve ever dreamed I’d experience. The limo takes me home afterwards,” she added.

Galifianakis also roped another celebrity into helping Haist out. According to a February issue of Star magazine, Renee Zellwegger decorated Haist's apartment and always makes sure that her fridge is stocked with food.
