Five children and seven adults were injured when a school bus carrying special needs children crashed Thursday afternoon in Indiana, northwest of Indianapolis.
Zionsville, Ind., authorities said none of the injured appear to have life-threatening injuries. The children on the bus are students from Mintonye Elementary School in the Tippecanoe School Corp. They were attending a field trip to the Indianapolis Zoo accompanied by their parents.
Police said it appeared the bus crash occurred when a truck moved into its lane, forcing it off the road into the median, the Lafayette Journal & Courier reported.
The bus rolled, coming to rest upright in the median.
All twelve passengers were transported to Indianapolis-area hospitals, where they were reported in good condition.
