Charlie Sheen's ex-wife Brooke Mueller lost custody of their twin sons after she was admitted to UCLA Medical Center May 3 for help with prescription drug abuse. Publicists did not give a specific explanation for Mueller's breakdown at the time, but Sheen went to court to place his children in the custody of his other ex, Denise Richards.

TMZ added details to the story on Monday, with a report that Mueller was "rambling" about "mafia connections" when police arrived at her home on May 1st. A man visiting the home called 911 claiming that Mueller had assaulted him.

Sources say she told cops she had been in constant contact with the FBI for months about Charlie Sheen, saying she was giving them a ton of info that would "bring him down."

Police said they believed Mueller was under the influence around her two children, and immediately called Children and Family Services.

Sheen's rep said he was happy to place the boys in Richards' temporary care: "He knows [the twins] Max and Bob are safe and in a stable, loving environment with Denise and the boys' sisters."

According to TMZ, Mueller had been taking Adderall, the same drug Lindsay Lohan wants to leave rehab for.
