McDonald's Corp. tweeted an interesting message at Charles Ramsey on Tuesday commending him for his heroic actions and promising they'd "be in touch."
Ramsey, who became a viral sensation for his role in the rescue of three women who had been missing in Ohio for 10 years, told local television station WEWS that he was eating McDonald's when he first saw Amanda Berry screaming for help.
Police later released Ramsey's 911 call, in which he also referenced his McMeal.
“I heard screaming, I’m eating my McDonalds, I come outside and I see this girl going nuts trying to get out of the house,” Ramsey told WEWS Tuesday.
Ramsey later explained that he had no clue his neighbor, with whom he had barbecued and listened to salsa music, could be capable of perpetrating such crimes.
Though Ramsey's involvement in the rescue has turned him into something of a national hero, he told Anderson Cooper that he is nothing but a Christian and an American. However, there's nothing wrong with a hero, a Christian or an American being rewarded with some McFries for his good deeds.
