Connie Britton is currently starring in ABC's Nashville, but told reporters that she "would love" to reprise her role as Tami Taylor in a "Friday Night Lights" movie, a possible sequel to the low-rated but critically acclaimed high school football drama.

"I would love it to happen. I'm a big supporter of it happening. I don't know if we will see it or not," Britton told E! at the White House Correspondents' Dinner Saturday night.

"I know it was being written and [showrunner] Peter Berg is really serious about so I think if everybody got on board, I don't see why we couldn't have a movie," she added.

"Friday Night Lights" originated as a 1990 non-fiction book by H.G. Bissinger, before it was made into a 2004 film starring Billy Bob Thornton. Berg, the film's director, then adapted it for the small screen in 2006.

Britton and her leading man, Kyle Chandler, both received Emmy Award nominations in 2010 and 2011. Chandler won the Emmy for Best Actor in 2011.
