Around 30 pounds of marijuana hitched a ride across the Mexican border on the underside of a car, surprising the driver who called the police after two men tried to grab the product.

A 33-year-old woman who lives in Mexico and works in downtown San Diego drove to work early Friday morning and was still in her car when two men approached and started removing packages from under her car, investigators told NBC 7 San Diego.

The men apparently did not realize she was still in her car, running off into a nearby black sedan when she startled them.

Police then discovered six packages, totaling 30 pounds of marijuana, attached to her car's undercarriage with strong magnets.

It's unclear who may have placed the packages on the car.
