The new unofficial U.S. Ambassador to North Korea, Dennis Rodman, showed he may not be quite as naive as he appears about his new best bud, Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un.
Rodman earned plenty of eye-rolls after his trip to Pyongyang in February, when he became the first American to meet the young Korean leader, and called him "awesome" and "a good guy."
But speaking to the Miami Herald over the weekend, Rodman defended his relationship with Kim, saying that he was returning to North Korea in August with open eyes.
"I have been contacted by the FBI and I met with them," Rodman said. "They wanted to know what went on and who's really in charge in North Korea. I have been invited back to North Korea in August and I want to go."

"I'm not a total idiot. I know what Kim Jong Un is threatening to do regarding his military muscle. I hope it doesn't happen because America will take whatever actions to protect America and our allies."
Rodman said he and Kim don't have specific plans for their vacation on August, but he was confident his personality would make strikes in calming the rising tensions on the Korean Peninsula.
"I do think that we have to talk to people who want to cause us harm so hopefully they won't," he said. "I've been talking to folks for years who don't get what I'm about but that's cool, 'cause once they walk away they like me. I might be able to keep folks' heads cool. We all going to find a way to get along and keep peace. Peace and love is where it's at."
