Ryan Gosling, the Internet's boyfriend, plays a stuntman-cum-bank robber in the new Derek Cianfrance crime drama, "The Place Beyond the Pines." In a recent interview, the 30-year-old actor said he relished the bad-boy role, and the chance to make it as realistic as possible.

“I’ve been thinking about a bank robbery my whole life,” Gosling told The Daily Telegraph, “and I finally got to do it.”

To make it more realistic, Cianfrance and Gosling filmed the bank robbery scene in one take at a real-life bank, with real customers and bank staff looking on. But Gosling didn't get quite the reaction he expected.

“I’m there with the gun and I look down and people are just smiling. They were just enjoying the show and I think I spotted someone filming me on their camera phone as I robbed the place,” he said.

“I loved making this movie. Initially, I just thought I got to rob banks on a bike, but actually it goes much, much deeper than that," he added.

"The Place Beyond the Pines" is in theaters now. Watch the film's opening scene and trailer below:
