Acclaimed documentarian Les Blank died Sunday at the age of 77.
According to Harrod Blank, his father passed away at his home in Berkeley, Calif. a year after he was diagnosed with bladder cancer, The Daily Telegraph reported.

The Florida-born director produced 42 films during his career and earned a lifetime achievement award from the American Film Institute for his work.
Les Blank is best known for his films, "Burden of Dreams," "Garlic is as Good as 10 Mothers," "All in This Tea" and "In Heaven There is No Beer."
