Could Hollywood be gearing up to turn "Blade Runner" Oscar Pistorius's life into a blockbuster movie?

Los Angeles insiders say not only are there two scripts in development, but studios have already approached Ryan Gosling and Charlize Theron to step into the roles of the South African Paralympic star and his slain girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp.

Pistorius shot Steencamp, 29, to death in the middle of the night at their home in Pretoria, South Africa, claiming he believed she was an intruder.

The ensuing scandal seems ready-made for the Hollywood treatment: Overnight, Pistorius went from media darling and beloved national hero to murder suspect; Steencamp was a model and reality TV star whose death was all the more tragic after she overcame a broken back and had to relearn how to walk.

"You’ve got one of the world’s most famous sportsmen under arrest and a beautiful young woman who meets a violent death," a source told the Daily Mail.

"Scripts began doing the rounds within days of the scandal breaking."

Although Gosling has said he wants to take a break from acting, studios seem keen to convince him to take on the juicy role.

"Ryan has the kind of quiet magnetism that would make this project work -- plus there’s some mystery about him," the source said. "Although Ryan has been saying publicly that he wants to take a break from acting to relax, executives will be falling over themselves to woo him once the scripts are finalized."

And Theron not only looks the part -- tall, blonde and a one-time model herself -- the Oscar-winning actress was born and raised in South Africa.
