[VIDEO] This Texas teenager can lift 700 pounds

By KATE STANTON, UPI.com

Proving that not all teenagers are awkward and gangly, Pilot Point High School senior Matt Poursoltani lifted an incredible 700 pounds during a state powerlifting meet in Abilene, Texas Saturday, breaking his own record of 670 and nearly surpassing Larry Allen's NFL bench press record of 705.

But while Allen weighed 325 pounds, Poursoltani only weighs 270.

Poursoltani, whose college football prospects look good, improved his performance by more than 100 pounds in a single year.

According to the Dallas Morning News, the young lifter eats "six sunny-side-up eggs" every morning, and he's been known to have two 16-ounce steaks for dinner.

Asked if he takes steroids, Poursoltani said, “If you need something to help you work out, you need to get out of the sport. If you can’t drive yourself that hard to come in here and work out, then it’s probably just not for you.”
