Amazon saved so much money from mass-producing the Kindle Fire HD 8.9 for its Europe and Japan launch, that it decided to pay it forward to their U.S. customers in the form of a price cut.

According to Engadget, Amazon has permanently lowered the tablet's price to $269 for the 16GB model and $399 for the 4G with 32gigs of storage model. The higher capacity devices also got a cut with the 32GB WiFi-only and the 64GB with 4G amounting to $299 and $499, respectively.

Thanks Europe and Japan!
