By KATE STANTON, UPI.com

After stabbing another man at a baptism party in November, Yasmani Ramirez of Redwood City, Calif., pleaded no contest to felony assault charges and was sentenced to 364 days in prison, The San Francisco Chronicle reported Monday.

The brawl started when Ramirez saw another man touch his wife and ask her to dance. Ramirez reacted by stabbing the victim with a knife in his stomach and cutting his arms.

District Attorney Steve Wagstaffe said the two young men had acted like testosterone-fueled animals.

“These are relatively young people -- testosterone is still running rampant in them,” Wagstaffe said. “It turned into a couple of wild male elk in mating season locking horns -- except for one party, the horns were a knife.”
