Kobe Bryant has passed over "Black Mamba" in favor of a new nickname, "Vino," the Los Angeles Lakers shooting guard declared on Twitter after last Thursday's game against the Timberwolves.

The unnamed friend gave Bryant the "vino" moniker because the 34-year-old basketball star, whose spectacular dunking has helped the struggling Lakers get back to a .500, apparently "gets better with age." Bryant sent out several more tweets with the hashtag #vino. Though many Twitter users assumed he was drunk, as Business Insider pointed out, Bryant's spirited performance in recent games has the sports world abuzz.

"Like a fine wine, Bryant has gotten better with age, if that wasn't obvious enough," Yahoo!'s Michael C. Jones wrote Monday. "He's off to one of his best seasons in his 17 years, and his legs look as spry as ever."
