Thanks to an official recommendation from South Korea's human rights commission, female flight attendants working for Asiana Airlines might soon be able to trade their pencil skirts for trousers.

According to Time, the flight attendants' labor union has been working to change Asiana's strict appearance guidelines for women, a 10-page list of rules on everything from earring length to eyeliner thickness. By comparison, male flight attendants only have two pages of rules to contend with.

After hearing the commission's recommendation, Asiana agreed to consider changing its no-pants rule.

"I hope the decision would help change similar discriminatory rules that govern how women in service industries, such as hotels, dress and do their hair and makeup," union head Kweon Soo-joung said.
