Chris Brown may have submitted fraudulent community service

L.A. County District Attorney Jackie Lacey announced on Tuesday that Chris Brown failed to provide “credible, competent or verifiable evidence” that he completed his court-ordered community service.

After his highly-publicized altercation with girlfriend, Rihanna, the singer was sentenced in 2009 to 180 days of community labor. He was granted permission to complete this order in his home state of Virginia as part of a five-year probation for assault.

But TMZ reported that Brown was on tour during some days he was allegedly serving the community. D.A. investigators claimed that paperwork verifying his hours by the Richmond, Va., police department showed “at best sloppy documentation and at worst fraudulent reporting." The D.A. has filed charges for violation of probation.

The case is closed on Chris Brown's Jan. 27 fight with Frank Ocean, however. The police report indicated that after the fight, Chris Brown yelled "we can bust on you too," noting that 'bust' was a street term for 'shoot'. But Frank Ocean has said he doesn't want to press charges.
