After a nationwide search, the Disney Channel has cast 11-year-old actress Rowan Blanchard as Cory and Topanga's daughter, Riley Matthews, in "Girl Meets World," the highly anticipated spin-off to the beloved 90s classic, "Boy Meets World."
“As soon as Rowan walked into the room, I was reminded of why Ben Savage was loved as Cory Matthews,” producer Michael Jacobs told Entertainment Weekly. “Rowan is real and accessible and I am hopeful this girl is about to meet a world that will love growing up with her as well.”
"It's official! I will be playing Riley Matthews in Girl Meets World!! Ahhh soo excited! #Blessed," Blanchard tweeted Monday.
Blanchard's onscreen parents congratulated their fictional new daughter Monday night over Twitter.

Blanchard's credits include 2010's "The Back-up Plan" and a 2011 "Spy Kids" movie.
The Disney Channel confirmed in November that returning "Boy Meets World" cast members Ben Savage and Danielle Fishel would reprise their roles in the new series, playing a happily married Cory and Topanga parenting a 13-year-old daughter.
Fishel expressed her excitement for the new project in a Tumblr post, saying that she hoped fans would embrace the new show's unique vision.
GMW is a new show. It isn’t BMW brought back to life but in current day. It will have familiar faces, familiar themes, and familiar messages. It will also have new faces, new themes, and new messages. BMW never spoke down to the audience and we are going to do our best to never do that with GMW. But please keep in mind that this there will be episode 1, of season 1, of a brand new show.
