A smoothie bar owner in Vernal, Utah has decided to teach his community about fiscal responsibility and is charging liberal patrons a dollar more for their drinks, KSL reported Tuesday.
George Burnett, the drilling-loving owner of 'I Love Drilling Juice & Smoothie Bar,' has set a "liberal tax" on his drinks, which he then donates to conservative causes.
"We have a fiscal problem in this country. We've got to deal with it or we don't have a country," Burnett told KSL. "So to kind of help make that point, just a little bit, I charge (liberals) just a little bit more."
Burnett said he's had a few liberals gladly pay for the fee, but others feel like the extra dollar is a sign of disrespect and have complained on the shop's Facebook page.
On the other hand, fellow conservatives seem to really appreciate Burnett's efforts.
"For him to do this, kind of puts a face out there on people who are, in my opinion, in the wrong. 'In the wrong' being liberals. To see them being charged a little bit more, it makes me happy," conservative customer Corey Peterson said to KSL news.
