"I'm just kind of amazed this is such a big deal," Roker told his "Today" show co-hosts Tuesday morning, after they asked the meteorologist to relive the time he pooped his pants at the White House.
"I put that [incident] in the book because I wanted people to realize that there are consequences to gastric bypass surgery," Roker said.

In a "Dateline" interview that aired Sunday night, Roker recalled letting out " a little something extra" at a White House event during George W. Bush's presidency in 2002, probably the result of the gastric bypass surgery that had helped him lose 140 pounds.
Roker: When you have a bypass and your bowels have been reconstructed, you think you're pretty safe. I probably went off and ate something I wasn't supposed to. And as I'm walking to the press room, I think I'm gonna pass a little gas here. Who's gonna know? Only a little something extra came out.
Snyderman: You pooped in your pants.
Roker: I pooped my pants.
Roker added that he quickly removed his underwear and "went commando."
